The Computer Systems Analyst II will provide government site support for the MQ-8 Technical Publications program at Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, Cherry Point.
The position will work as an integral part of the MQ-8 technical publications team on government site and perform Data Management and technical publication update functions in accordance with MQ-8 peculiar procedures for assigned tasking.
Collecting, compiling, organizing and interpreting technical data related to H-60 program.
Construct, verify the content, and manage the master technical data package for an assigned weapons system and all its peculiar components.
Maintain master data packages/records in a manner which will facilitate accurate and expedient publication updates and revisions.
Research and analyze Technical Manual Source Data Records (TMSDR) Technical Directives (TD), Local Engineering Specifications (LES), Local Process Specifications (LPS), Temporary Engineering Instructions (TEI), Design Change Notices (DCN), technical instructions and messages for COMNAVAIRFOR, COMNAVAIRSYSCOM, NAVAIRLOGCEN, NATEC, etc, to determine if the master data package must be modified.
Research, answer, and process Technical Publication Deficiency Reports using background materials such as existing technical publications, blueprints, schematics, supply and logistics data.
Consult with cognizant engineers, logisticians, Data Management Specialists, or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives as required before modifying the technical data package.
Assis the MQ-8 program with regards to Technical Manual Conferences, Quality Assurance, In-Process Reviews, verification and Integrated Logistics Support Team Meetings.
Assist the government Data Manager in managing technical manual source data, identifying the manuals that require updates, estimating the number of pages affected and establishing manual update schedules and update priority based upon outstanding source data.
Assist in developing and reviewing source data packages for prescribed format, style, number of pages, etc.
for the manuals to be updated.
Support the program in the preparation and delivery of technical publications, changes and revisions.
Includes the development and “quick turnaround” of draft Type B IRAC packages as required; turn around time to meet NATEC policy.
Assist in reviewing, approving and submitting final publications to the Defense Automated Printing Service Office and NATEC website.
Assist in reviewing IRACs to identify and correct technical publication problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Requires one (1) year of general editorial experience which requires proficiency in punctuation, spelling, and English grammar and rules.
Requires two (2) years of specialized experience in editing military manuals and specifications.
Requires experience with computer applications as they are used in automated publishing and information retrieval.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC
Must be an US Citizen
Knowledge and experience with the following is preferred:
Technical publication, MIL-STD-3001, S1000D IETM, and CSDB experience in particular to NAVAIR standards
MQ-8 specific experience
Military experience using technical publications and IETMs
CTPL experience
Writing, editing, or quality assurance of technical documentation experience using PTC Arbortext and MS Word
Strong attention to detail
PTC Arbortext, MS Word and MS Excel experience
