Job Duties and Responsibilities: :
This role specializes in providing comprehensive environmental compliance consultation and management services, ensuring adherence to Federal, state, regional, and local regulations.
Responsibilities include achieving environmental management goals, addressing compliance challenges in water, air, solid waste, and NEPA regulations, and minimizing conflicts between activities and regulatory agencies.
Tasks involve a wide range of pollution control, prevention, waste disposal, and recycling activities.
The position includes preparing inventories of pollutants emitted, monitoring programs, and studies to identify and rectify environmental deficiencies.
It also entails coordinating corrective measures, preparing guidelines for compliance, and conducting studies on potential pollution sources and mitigation.
Thorough knowledge of local, state (NC), and federal regulations is crucial for coordinating efforts to ensure timely permit submissions, license requests, and compliance with design reviews.
The role ensures compliance with established standards in areas such as RCRA, EPCRA, CWA, OPA, NPDES, CAA, NEPA, TSCA, SDWA, and EMS.
It utilizes technical expertise to prepare and evaluate environmental assessments/impact statements for projects and operations.
Key responsibilities include reviewing construction projects for environmental considerations, initiating NEPA reviews, conducting periodic inspections, and providing assistance for audits and inspections.
The position actively resolves environmental issues, documents program activities for regulating agencies, and updates Federal environmental plans to uphold the organization's commitment to environmental stewardship.
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)::
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental compliance disciplines.
Demonstrate a working knowledge/understanding of other Federal, State, and Local Environmental Compliance and Permitting.
Dependable, flexible, and able to travel and spend extended time in the field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.
g.
, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, OneDrive and Outlook).
Solid oral and written communication skills.
Certifications and training preferred; 40 hour HAZWOPER, HAZWOPER Supervisor, First Aid and CPR, 30 Hours OSHA General construction training, DOT HM Shipping, NC DOT Level I Erosion and Sediment Control, NCSU Stormwater SCM Inspection and Maintenance
Must be able to pass background checks in order to obtain base access and Common Access Card (CAC).
This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60–1.
