The Hitchcock Collectable Chair Vintage 1981 "Home for Christmas" by M.
Morgan, Collectable chair with low limited number #75 of 800.
The scenes which are featured on many of Hitchcock's specialty limited collection chairs are developed through a lengthy and painstaking process.
An original drawing was done by their artist, then the drawing was cut into layers of delicate stencils.
Usually 12 to 15 layers are required to finish the picture.
The decorators at Hitchcock used the stencils to apply the picture to the chair with the finishing touches added by hand with a paintbrush.
The final result is a beautiful hand stenciled picture with no two being exactly the same.
Hitchcock furniture like most all Heirloom Solid Hardwood furniture made between 1946-2006 sprayed with a clear lacquer to the chair which over time gives the patina of the antique white paint a off white to yellow cream look.
This happens to all furniture, but it is really only on the antique white Hitchcock furniture that it is more noticeable.
