Excellent opportunity for an cardiac anesthesiologist to join our group practice in Wilmington, NC, serving a 678-bed tertiary care center
Description
Our practice is based out of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a 678-bed level II trauma center, which serves as a tertiary care center for seven counties in southeastern coastal North Carolina.
We also provide anesthesia services to multiple other locations across the Cape Fear region, including, Caper Fear (Orthopedic) Hospital, Pender Memorial Hospital, Dosher Hospital (Southport), Atlantic SurgiCenter, as well as various office-based settings.

Heart call is generally 1:12 but with the next day off.

Team highlights
Our practice has built a stable team of 26 board-certified, career-committed anesthesiologists.
Many of our physicians have fellowship training in cardiovascular, pain management, regional, and pediatric anesthesiology.
We have 12 members of the heart team—4 is fellowship trained.
We have just begun an LVAD program and have a structural heart program (TAVR's, Mitral clips, etc.
).
Work in a collegial setting with a devoted team of physicians that are dedicated to patient care and safety.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
Performance of clinical intervention as needed

ECFMG and FLEX
Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
