Job Summary: A QC Technician in the marine industry is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of marine products, equipment, and components through thorough inspection, testing, and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Inspection and Testing: Perform detailed inspections and tests on marine products, equipment, and components to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
This may include visual inspections, measurements, material testing, and more.
Document Compliance: Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspection and testing results.
Ensure that all relevant data is recorded and reported according to established procedures.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to address any quality issues or non-conformities.
Make recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
Compliance with Regulations: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality control guidelines to ensure all products meet required standards.
Calibration and Maintenance: Ensure that all testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Report any equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the quality control procedures.
Training: Assist in training new employees or team members on quality control procedures and standards.
Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
Some positions may require an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
Previous experience in quality control or a similar role, preferably in the marine industry.
Familiarity with marine industry standards and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using testing and measurement equipment.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with various departments.
