Our Jacksonville manufacturing facility has about 250 employees operating over three shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs minor electrical, mechanical, HVAC, pneumatic, plumbing, welding, machine repair, installation, and preventive facility maintenance functions.
Maintain high level control over oil control room and oil control responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Removes waste of any kind from assigned areas and places in designated areas using hand trucks and carts.
Removes, installs, inspects, repairs, and replaces all types of production and facilities equipment.
Monitors facilities equipment, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair as needed.
Cleans machinery including removing chips, pumping oil from sump and operating steam cleaning and degreasing equipment.
Performs weekly and bi-weekly Dump – Clean – Recharge of washer and scheduled coolant systems.
Performs biological evaluations of Aqueous based materials in sumps.
Inspects all machinery for proper fluids, grease, etc.
and refills as necessary.
Using 5S principles, maintain oil control room, and all areas affected by facility services.
Monitor and track fluid level inventories and adjust inventory as necessary.
Monitor all waste levels, (drum storage, oil control room, solid waste, scrap, hazardous waste, universal waste.
) Uses hand and/or power equipment.
Perform PM task as assigned.
Perform cross training activities where necessary to satisfy work assignments.
Knows and observes all plant and departmental safety practices and procedures.
Follows housekeeping procedures in maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
Knowledge and ability to utilize necessary hand tools and equipment to perform tasks as assigned.
Adds chemical and or dilutes chemical baths to maintain proper concentrations using daily measurements from the Quality Laboratory.
Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must understand instructions given in English.
Must be able to safely use powered material handling equipment, and ground maintenance equipment.
Must understand different types of Lubricants such as Way Lubes, Hydraulic Oils, Spindle Oils, Greases, and their inherent properties such as Viscosity and Density.
Should be able to cross reference equivalent materials as needed.
General knowledge and understanding of facilities maintenance, EHS rules and procedures.
General knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and piping.
General knowledge of Soap, Water soluble coolant chemistry, Solvents, and methods for maintenance of fluid sumps.
General Knowledge of Chemical Hazards associated with the materials being handled daily.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
Must have previous experience working in and around various oils and chemicals.
5S skills needed to understand and organize job related functions.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to perform highly repetitive work.
Up to 50lbs max weightlifting without assistance.
Continuous walking/standing/stretching/bending/kneeling is required for the position.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Working around oils, soaps, and fluids.
Working within a clean room wearing the required static coats, hairnet, and beard net (if needed).
Required to work overtime from time to time to include weekends or extended hours.
