Maintenance Technician III, 2nd Shift New Bern, NC / Full-time Your responsibilities Responsible to maintain plant equipment to ensure reliable performance, minimize breakdowns and troubleshoot and repair equipment that has failed.
This is a multi-craft position that requires knowledge, skills and experience within the Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic trades.
Weekends, Holidays, Alternate shifts and overtime may be required to meet production requirements.
Job Functions · Follow safety requirements as they pertain to work performed (Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Arc Flash, etc.
) · Perform work within your physical capabilities.
· Ensure all safety devices on equipment are functioning properly.
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area by 5S standards.
· Manage time to complete scheduled work and respond to equipment breakdowns.
· Analyze and repair machine malfunctions (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and tooling).
· Fabricate components as needed to complete repairs.
· Operate shop equipment (saws, grinders, mills, lathes, welders, etc.
).
· Read and interpret engineering drawings and machine system schematics for troubleshooting and installation.
· Edit, update and make corrections to machine drawings & schematics.
· Use gages, instruments and measuring tools to determine dimensional requirements.
· Installation, repair, and replacement of plumbing, air lines, conduit, cable trays etc… · Utilize electrical test equipment to evaluate electrical circuits and components.
· Troubleshoot, repair & install electrical devices, motors, motor controllers, etc.
· Troubleshoot repair & install D/C, single phase A/C and three phase A/C circuits & equipment.
· Connect to machine control PLCs & monitor control logic for diagnostic purposes.
· Repair/replace tool and die components as required.
· Troubleshoot, maintain & repair hydraulic systems and components.
· Perform standard preventive maintenance procedures as assigned.
· Install, move, repair, or replace equipment including machine leveling & utilities connections.
· Fully and accurately document all work performed utilizing the SAP PM module.
· Communication to customers regarding work order status and repair follow-up to ensure that the equipment is performing to their expectations.
· Communication of work status, issues and follow up requirements to the Team Leader, Supervisor, and Planner.
· Develop and continuously improve preventive maintenance inspections and task lists.
· Develop recommended spare parts lists for equipment.
· Communicate directly with OEM’s as required to troubleshoot & diagnose equipment.
· Communicate directly with vendors to secure parts as required to make repairs.
· Support the TPM program according to the BSH Production System · Train production associates on basic maintenance skills needed to maintain their equipment per the TPM program.
· Participate in Root Cause Analysis events for significant equipment or process failures.
· Lead Root Cause Analysis events for significant equipment or process failures.
· Mentor and train new & less experienced technicians.
· Occasionally analyze, discuss, and solve complex maintenance problems with sub-contractors and suppliers to avoid supply shortages and factory shutdowns · Perform all other duties as assigned.
Your profile · High School Diploma – Required · Certificate (Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship) – Preferred · Two Year College Degree (Advanced Manufacturing or similar technical degree) - Preferred · 5-7 Years of Experience (Industrial Maintenance) – Required · Mechanical, tooling, electrical, electronics, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic computer skills.
· Mechanical and electrical measuring devices.
· Hand tools, industrial machinery, and utilities equipment.
· Must be able to communicate using two-way radio.
· SAP PM Module for equipment work order logging.
· Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word · Communication and organizational skills · Travel Percentage – 10% Your Pay & Benefits The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title.
Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location.
If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the maximum payout potential is 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
